     "I, Joseph Crow of the County of Callaway and State of Missouri do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say:
     "First, it is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.
     "Second I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah Crow in lieu of her dower one hundred and twenty two acres of land to include the improvements upon the plantation upon which we not reside, situate in Sections fourteen and eleven, Township fourty four Range ten West lying and being on the west side of my plantation, during her natural live and all the slaves and all the livestock, horse, cattle, sheep , hogs, etc. by me owned and by me kept thereon. Also all the household furniture and other items not particularly named and otherwise disposed of in this my will during her widowhood¸ she however first disposing of a sufficiency thereof to pay my just debts as aforesaid and that at the death of my said wife all the land hereby devised and bequeathed to her as aforesaid, I do devise and bequeath to my son Joseph Redman Crow, and to his heirs and assigns forever, and I do further devise that in case my said wife should marry then the personal estate herein named shall be equally divided between my children.
     "Third, I give and devise to my sons John H. Crow and Rawley H. Crow the undivided residue of the plantation upon which we now live as described above lying east of the land devised and set apart for my wife, suppose to contain about one hundred and eighty acres to divided between them agreeable to quantity and quality by a line running north and south and I do further devise that Johan H. Crow shall have the West half. Rawley H. Crow East half or portion of said land.
     "Fourth, I give and devise to daughter Elizabeth Ann Crow and Nancy Ann Crow all that tract of land purchased by me of the United States by deed dated May 10th 1837 being the southwest fractional quarter of Section fifteen and the Northwest fractional quarter of section twenty two. Also the south east half of the the northwest quarter of Section fifteen all in township forty-four of range ten west containing two hundred and twenty six acres to be equally divided between them both in quality and quantity and
     "Fifthly¸ I give and devise to my daughter Sarah Ann Crow, all that tract or parcel of land situated and being in the County of Cole South of the Missouri River being the East half of the Southwest quarter of section seventeen township forty four of Range twelve being the land purchased by me from Hamilton Lenos by deed dated December 4th 1837.
     "And lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my son John H. Crow to be my Executor to this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me made and ratifying this and no other to be my last will and testament.

Henry and Catherine died ca 1840-50 in Franklin Co., AL. Known children were Therington, James, William, Montgomery, and Henry. There was a girl b 1810-20 and 3 boys b ca 1820-25. The 3 boys may have been Andrew, N., and W. E.

"As you already know there are very few documents for the Vaughts. The box of Vaught land records I am not going to touch for you, it is not necessary. "Oxcarts" p 786 and 787 have John Paul's land and Andrew Sr.'s land in the Vaught valley near Harrisonburg, VA. "Oxcarts" p 788 and 789 have Andrew Sr.'s Cripple Creek property and show how it was divided up. George is a proven son (a German birth Fraktur that will be in Vol 3) and the circumstantial evidence of the land shows that Christley and Henry are also sons. The land that was Andrew Sr.'s in the Dutton Valley and went to Gaspar shows Gaspar as a probable son. John is not so clear. He had land elsewhere, but do not know where. So did David. In 1781 Gaspar, John, Christley, David, and George were in the same Militia Company. Andrew Jr. has no land deeds in VA. Since he went to SC in 1786/7, he did not take any of the division of land in 1786. That is my guess. History books seem to indicate that a lot of the settlers in SC that later became TN, did no recording of their land and paid no taxes. If they did the records would be in a SC archive that I have not located. When TN became a state in 1795 they still did not record. But by 1800 TN was ready to remedy the situation, land was recorded, and taxes collected. The records for Blount Co. are missing. There are some land records in the court records in Blount Co. after 1805. Too late for us. My sister, Mickey Martin, is the map expert. She has a degree in Geology from the U of Colorado, worked at Cal Tech for the Army during World War 2 on weather maps for the "D-day" invasion. ... She did all the land records and maps for the Vaught books. Another reason that I am not going into them at this time. And I am still too sick to do so. I will try to send you the other source material.

     FUNERAL SERVICES FOR A.VAUT: Funeral services were conducted Saturday by Rev. Walter Douglass of the Methodist church for A. Vaut, who died Friday after a long illness. Mr. Vaut had suffered for two years from high blood pressure with occasional attacks of paralysis and had never been able to be out of bed since that time. Mr. Vaut left a large family, most of whom still reside in Pauls Valley. Clarence E. Vaut, janitor at the court house, Mart Vaut, Bert A. Vaut, Alph Vaut, Mrs. Rollie Hart of Paoli and Mrs. Ross Wilson who resides near Pauls Valley. The court house was closed for the funeral and practically all the court house employees attended the funeral, a large crowd composed of the many friends who knew and respected the deceased and his family were present."^10,11,5

Vaut, died in this city May 20th after a lingering illness at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 4 days. Deceased was a native of Kentucky, but came with her parents when but 2 years old to Tarrant County Texas where she lived until moving to the Indian Territory with her husband in 1902. She is survived by her husband, A. Vaut, four sons and two daughters as follows: C. E; B. A; W. M; and Alf all of Pauls Valley. Mrs. Rollie Hart of near Paoli and Mrs. R. M. Wilson living a few miles north of Pauls Valley. Funeral services were held at the residence of a son, Bert A Vaut on South Walnut Street Wednesday, services were conducted by Rev. B. M. Nelson. Internment took place in Olivet Cemetery."

Asa Eli Clevenger Jr. died on 24 February 1893 at Round Prairie, Leavenworth Co., Kansas, USA, at age 66; Obituary from Find A Grave:
     Mr. A. E. Cleavinger, one of the most respected citizens of Leavenworth county, died unexpectedly Friday evening at his home on his farm near Lowemont. He was 67 years of age and the father of seven children who with their mother survive and mourn his loss.
     Mr. Cleavinger had been ailing for some time with a complication of troubles incident to a gentleman of his age and active pursuits; but seemed much better Friday morning. He was up and ate dinner and seemed to be in comparatively good spirits. About 7 o'clock he complained of weariness and 8 o'clock he was dead, of heart failure.
     The deceased was born in Kentucky in 1826 and removed to Missouri when a young man. In 1855 he came to Kansas and homesteaded the 320 acres of land upon which he built the home where he breathed the last.
     He was known throughout the county as one of the prominent citizens, quiet in his demeanor, yet wielding a powerful influence in questions of importance to the county. Politically he was an old time Democrat, honest in his convictions, though he was no politican.
     His children are: Miss Rebecca A. Cleavinger, a well known and efficient teacher in the country schools; Mr. Asa Cleavinger, who with his family resides at Fairmount; Mr. Joe Cleavinger, who has a family and lives at Winchester; Mrs. Nannie, wife of Hon. A. M. Cory; Mr. J. W. Cleavinger, who lives near the home farm and Moses and Miss May Cleavinger who are living at the homestead.
     The funeral will take place at 12 o'clock tomorrow from the Cleavinger residence.
     The interment will take place at Round Prairie cemetery.
