Sir Egerton Brydges in Collins's Peerage of England (1812) spends several
pages detailing the descendants of Sir Ralph Percy including the Widdrington and
Ellerker lines, even going so far as to need an apology in his eyes
[2:290-291]:
"The reader will pardon this long digression relating to a branch of this
noble family, which has hitherto been omitted in all former Pedigrees and
Genealogical Histories; and yet, the several individuals of it occurring in public
Records and General History, and being there mistaken for their relations of
the elder line, have occasioned a confusion, which it was thought deserving
this very minute inquiry to remove. We now return to the other issue of the
second Earl of Northumberland."3

Children of Sir Ralph Percy:
1. Sir Henry Percy, Knt., of Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland.
Died 1486 (Collins 2:286). In 1472 styled "Henricus Percy Miles" and
"Consanguineus Domini" (Collins 2:285). Styled "consanguineum domini" in Percy
Bailiff's Rolls of the Fifteenth Century (1921) (Surtees Society 134), p. 61.
Had two children (as per Collins 2:286-287): John Percy (alive 1520), Esq.,
of Newton (near Bamburgh), and Margery (Percy) Widdrington-Ellerker.
2. Sir Ralph Percy, Knt.
Had an annuity of 20 marks yearly for life (Collins 2:284)
3. George Percy, Esq., of Newton (near Bamburgh), Northumberland.
Died ca. 1500 (Collins 2:284). Married in 6 Hen. VII to Eleanor (daughter
of Sir William Hylton) and relict of Owen, 2nd Lord Ogle, and mother to Ralph,
3rd Lord Ogle (Collins 2:284).
4. Margaret Percy
Married Sir Ralph Harbottle, who held the Acton inheritance apparently
received as dower (Collins 2:285)
