Guillaume I Testadimaglio Embriaco Lord of Gibelet was born circa 1040 at Genoa, Città Metropolitana di Genova, Liguria, Italy (now).3,4
Guillaume I Testadimaglio Embriaco Lord of Gibelet died after 26 June 1109; Genealogics says d. aft 29 Jun 1109; Med Lands says d. aft 1110.1,2
      ; Per Med Lands:
"Caffaro records that, in 1109, the town of Jebail was captured by Bertrand Count of Tripoli who granted it to the Genoese, presumably in recognition of the part they played in the campaign. The same source records that two parts of the town were sub-granted to Ugo Embriaco, the other third to Ansaldo Corso. After the murder of Guy [II] Embriaco Lord of Jebail in 1282, Bohémond VII Count of Tripoli occupied the town, which fell to the Egyptians in 1289[197].
     "Two brothers from Genoa:
1. GUGLIELMO [I] Embriaco (-after 1110). Caffaro names "Guillermus Januensis Embricus et Primus frater eius" among those present at the capture of Jerusalem in Jul 1099[198]. The Annals of Caffaro name "Willielmus Embriacus…Guido Spinola" among the consuls of Genoa in 1102 and 1110[199]. "Bertrannus comes S Aegidii", acting through "Guillelmi Embriaci, Oberti Ususmaris, Ingonis Pedegolæ, Ansaldi Caput de Burgo", granted the whole of Jebail and one third of Tripoli to the church of St Lawrence, Genoa by charter dated 26 Jun 1109[200]. Guglielmo [I] presumably returned to Genoa before the capture of Tripoli (dated to 12 Jul 1109) after which his presumed son was granted the lordship of Jebail. m ---. The name of Guglielmo's wife is not known.
2. NICCOLÒ [I] Embriaco (-[Dec 1127/Jan 1147])."

; Per Med Lands:
"AIMERY [II] de Rancon, son of [AIMERY [I] de Rancon & his wife Almodis ---] (-after 10 Dec 1096). Besly notes a charter “de saint Jean” of Aimery [II] in which he describes himself as "fils d’un pere mal tué ou assassiné à tort, qui fut suivi d’une autre cruauté plus détestable beaucoup" but provides no citation reference[930]. Besly assumes that this document refers to the death of Aimery [I] (see above). His parentage is presumably confirmed by the following document, although some doubt is introduced by his absence from the other charter dated to before 1047, quoted above, which only names Aimery [I]’s sons Gérard and Guy: “Haimericus de Rancone” donated “ecclesia de Blasmeriaco” to Vendôme Sainte-Trinité, with the consent of “uxor eius...Almoda et filii eorum Haimericus et Geraldus”, by charter dated to before 1047[931]. A charter dated to [1079/99] records that "Aimericus de Rancone" donated "capitenium meum" to Notre-Dame de Saintes[932]. Guillaume III Comte de Poitou restored "ecclesiam beati Georgii...in Oleronis insula" to Vendôme monastery by charter dated 10 Dec 1096, subscribed by "...Haimericus de Rancone..." (signing second among the lay signatories, presumably indicating his age or seniority)[933].
"m BOURGOGNE, daughter of ---. Her marriage is confirmed by the charter dated 1105 under which her son "Aimericus de Ranconia vocatus filius Aimeri qui fuit male peremptus et filius Burgoniæ" donated "mariscum et verniatam quæ sunt sub molendino de Ternant" to the abbey of Ternant Ste-Marie[934]. "Gaufridus de Ranconio" donated "meum capiteneum" to Notre-Dame de Saintes, confirmed by “matre mea Burgunnia et uxore mea Fous si fia”, by undated charter dated to [1119/34][935]."
