     "In 1163 Wulbrand approved the foundation in Loccum of a Cistercian abbey which would many years later become an affiliate of the abbey of Volkenroda in Thuringia.
     "Wulbrand died in 1167. His son Ludolf I died in 1191 from a wound received in a tourney, and his son Wulbrand in 1189 in the Third Crusade. He was consecrated as Bishop but died on his journey home at Pavia, 28 August 1197.¹ He was Bishop of Utrecht.²
