Wierzchoslawa Ludmilla (?) of Poland died in 1223 at Poland (now); Genealogy.EU and Genealogics says d. 1123; Med Lands says d. bef 1211.1,2,3,6
; Per Genealogy.EU: "[1m.] Wierzchoslawa Ludmilla, *before 1153, +1223; m.ca 1160 Frederick of Lorraine-Bitsch (+1204.)3"
; Per Genealogics:
"Ludmilla was born about 1150, the second daughter of Mieszko III, high duke of Poland, and his first wife Elisabeth of Hungary.
"About 1170 Ludmilla married Frédéric I, then count of Bitsche, second son of Mathieu I, duke of Lorraine, and Bertha von Schwaben. The union was arranged by Frédéric's maternal uncle Emperor Friedrich I Barbarossa during a visit to Poland; thanks to this wedding, Mieszko III gained important allies among his western neighbours. Frédéric and Ludmilla had nine children, of whom three sons and two daughters would have progeny.
"Ludmilla became the contact between the French and Polish artistic circles. According to one of the theories about the building of the famous Gniezno Doors, the pair of bronze doors at the entrance to Gniezno Cathedral in Gniezno, Poland, it was thanks to her efforts that around 1180 these doors came to her father's court.
"After years of disputes between Frédéric and his older brother Simon II, duke of Lorraine, in 1205 Simon finally abdicated and entered a monastery. Frédéric then became duke of Lorraine and Ludmilla his duchess consort. However, their reign was short-lived, as Frédéric died one year later, in 1206. Ludmilla returned to Poland after the death of her husband, and remained there until her own death about 1223."9
; Per Wikpedia:
"Wierzchoslawa Ludmilla of Greater Poland (Polish: Wierzchoslawa Ludmila Mieszkówna; b. bef. 1153 – d. bef. 1223), was a Polish princess member of the House of Piast, by marriage Lady of Bitsch and during 1205-1206 Duchess of Lorraine.
"She was the second daughter and fourth child of Mieszko III the Old, Duke of Greater Poland and since 1173 High Duke of Poland, by his first wife Elisabeth, daughter of King Béla II of Hungary. Her name was probably given after High Duchess Viacheslava of Novgorod, wife of Boleslaw IV the Curly, the ruling High Duke of Poland; with this gesture, Duke Mieszko III maybe showed an expression of warming relations between him and his brother the High Duke.
Life
"Around 1167, Wierzchoslawa Ludmilla married with Frederick, Lord of Bitsch, second son of Duke Matthias I of Lorraine. The union was arranged by Frederick's maternal uncle Frederick I, Holy Roman Emperor during a visit to Poland. During her marriage, Wierzchoslawa Ludmilla bore her husband nine children:
"Wierzchoslawa Ludmilla became the contact between the French and Polish artistic representatives. One of the theories about the building of the famous Gniezno Doors states that thanks to her efforts, around 1180 the Doors came to her father's court.[1]
"After years of disputes between Frederick and his brother Duke Simon II of Lorraine, in 1205 he finally abdicated and entered a monastery. Then Frederick became the Duke of Lorraine and Wierzchoslawa Ludmilla his duchess consort. However, their reign was short-lived: one year later, in 1206, Duke Frederick I died. Wierzchoslawa Ludmilla returned to Poland after the death of her husband, and remained there until her own death, around 1223.

"FERRY de Lorraine, son of MATHIEU I Duke of Lorraine & his wife Berta [Judith] von Staufen (before 1155-7 Apr [1206], bur Stulzbron Abbey[140]). The Chronicle of Alberic de Trois-Fontaines in 1193 names "dux Symon et Fredericus de Bites et comes Matheus Tullensis et Theodericus" as the four sons of "ducis Lotharingie Mathie qui dux Mosellanorum dicebatur"[141]. The Genealogica ex Stirpe Sancti Arnulfi names "Symonem ducem…et Fridericum de Bittes" as sons of "Matheum ducem"[142]. Seigneur de Bitsch 1155. “Matthæus Lotharingiæ dux et marchio” granted toll exemptions at Neuf-château to the abbey of Saint-Bénigne de Dijon, with the consent of “dominæ Berthæ sucissæ uxoris meæ et Roberti fratris mei et filiorum meorum Simonis et Friderici”, by charter dated 14 Oct 1166[143]. “Matthæus Lotharingiæ dux et marchio” confirmed rights to Clairlieu abbey, with the consent of “uxoris meæ et filiorum meorum Simonis...Friderici et Matthæi”, by charter dated 1172[144]. He challenged the succession of his brother in 1176, the ensuing war being settled in [May] 1179 when Ferry was granted Gerbéviller and Ormes[145]. “Simon...dux Lotharingiæ et marchio” donated property to Bouxières-aux-Dames, at the request of “matris meæ dominæ Berthæ filiæ Friderici imperatoris et fratrum meorum Theoderici electi Metensi episcopi, Frederici et Mathæi ac sororis meæ Alidis ducissæ Burgundiæ”, for the soul of “patris mei domini Mathæi”, by charter dated 1176[146]. “Bertha…Lotharingorum ducissa…et filii mei Theodericus, Simon Dux et Marchio, Fredericus, et junior eorum Matthæus, soror quoque ipsorum Aleidis Ducissa Burgundiæ” donated property to Mont Saint-Trinité, for the soul of "viri mei nobilis ducis Matthæi", by charter dated to [1177][147]. A charter dated 1179 records the peace agreement brokered by “Philippus Flandriæ et Viromand. comes” between “Simonem ducem Lotharingiæ cognatum meum” and “Fredericus fratrem suum”, the latter being granted “allodium de Ulmis...et castrum allodii de Gillebertivillario...et feudum comitis Seyberti et curiam de Chanceio...” by his brother[148]. “Henricus...Barrensis comes”, on leaving on crusade, granted privileges to the abbey of Sainte-Marie-aux-Bois relating to “curia...de Blanxiis” by charter dated 1180, witnessed by “Simon dux Lotharingiæ, Fidericus de Bites, Fridericus filius eius...”[149]. His right to the title “duke” was recognised by the emperor: Emperor Heinrich VI gave judgment in a dispute between the canons of Toul and “Mathæum comitem Tullensem consanguineum nostrum” by charter dated 4 Mar 1188, witnessed by “Simon dux Lotharingiæ consanguineus noster, Fredericus dux de Bites consanguineus noster, Albertus comes de Dasburch...”[150]. “Simonis...Lotharingiæ ducis et fratris eius Friderici domini de Bitch” are named as present in a charter dated Jun 1188 which records the appointment of “Matthæus...præpositus ecclesiæ Sancti Deodati”[151]. “Fridericus...dominus de Bites filius Mathæi ducis Lotharingiæ” confirmed the foundation of Stulzbronn abbey by “avus meus Simon et pater meus Mathæus duces Lotharingiæ” by charter dated 1196[152]. “Fridericus dominus de Bitch et Frid. juvenis filius eius” confirmed donations made by “dominus Dux” to Saint-Dié by charter dated 1203[153]. He succeeded his brother in 1206 as FERRY I Duke of Lorraine. “Fridericus...Dux Lotharingiæ et Marchio” donated pasturage rights “per omnes fines de Champigneulle et Froart” to Bouxières abbey, for the souls of “meæ ac patris mei Mathæi, uxoris meæ et liberorum meorum”, by charter dated 12 Aug 1206[154]. It is unclear whether this charter was finalised on the date specified, after the duke’s death, whether the document is misdated, or whether the duke’s date of death shown above was in fact O.S. (considering the difficulty of deciding the precise date of change between O.S. and N.S. each year in Mar/Apr).

** Frederick (who succeeded his father as Duke of Lorraine)
** Matthias (later Bishop of Toul)
** Philipp (Lord of Gerbéviller)
** Thierry (Lord of Autigny)
** Henry (Lord of Bayon)
** Agatha (Abbess of Remiremont)
** Judith (Countess of Salm)
** Hedwig (Countess of Zweibrücken) and Cunigunde (Duchess of Limburg)
** Matthias (later Bishop of Toul)
** Philipp (Lord of Gerbéviller)
** Thierry (Lord of Autigny)
** Henry (Lord of Bayon)
** Agatha (Abbess of Remiremont)
** Judith (Countess of Salm)
** Hedwig (Countess of Zweibrücken) and Cunigunde (Duchess of Limburg)

"Frederick I (French: Ferry or Ferri) (c. 1143 – 7 April 1206) was the duke of Lorraine from 1205 to his death. He was the second son of Matthias I and Bertha (also called Judith), daughter of Frederick II, Duke of Swabia. He succeeded his brother, Simon II, who had already given him the county of Bitche in 1176 and had recognised him over the northern, germanophone half of Lorraine by the Treaty of Ribemont of 1179. Judith had wanted him to succeed to all their father's inheritance, but a three-year civil war only secured him Bitche and a half-portion.
"Simon abdicated to a monastery in 1205, recognising Frederick's son Frederick as heir. Frederick inherited it all nevertheless, but died a year later and it went to his son by Wierzchoslawa Ludmilla (1150–1223),[1] daughter of Mieszko III the Old, duke of Greater Poland and high duke of all Poland. Their children were:
