; Per Genealogics:
“Eudes de Bourgogne, comte de Nevers, was born about 1230, the son of Hugues IV, duc de Bourgogne, and Yolande de Dreux, comtesse d'Auxonne. He was his father's heir, but he never inherited the duchy due to his death before his father; Burgundy was thereafter ruled by Eudes' brother Robert.
“Through his mother Eudes was count of Nevers and Auxerre. Eudes' father had arranged his marriage in 1248 to Mahaut II de Dampierre, dame de Bourbon, daughter of Archambaud IX de Dampierre, seigneur de Bourbon, and Yolande de Châtillon, heiress of Nevers, Auxerre and Tonnerre. The match was intended to reattach these important lands to the duchy of Burgundy. However Mahaut had only three daughters, all of whom became rulers of their parents' counties, though they remained separate from the duchy. Yolande and Alix would have progeny; Yolande married first Jean Tristan de France, comte de Valois, then Robert III, Graaf van Vlaanderen, with whom she had several children. Alix married Jean I de Châlons, chevalier, seigneur de Rochefort.
“As a widower, Eudes divided the three counties between his three daughters, and in 1266 he left to fight in the Holy Land. He died on 4 August 1266, defending Acre.”.2

"GUY de Dampierre, son of GUILLAUME [II] Seigneur de Dampierre & his wife Marguerite II Ctss of Flanders ([1225/26]-Compiègne 7 Mar 1305, bur Abbaye de Flines, near Douai). The Genealogica Comitum Flandriæ Bertiniana names (in order) "Guillelmum Guodnem et Iohannem" as the three sons of "Guillelmo domino de Dampetra [et] Margaretæ", specifying that "primo mortuo sine liberis in tornramento apud Trasegnies"[629]. Matthew of Paris specifies that his parents had "two others" when he records the parentage of his brother Guillaume, but does not name the other children[630]. He succeeded his brother in 1251 as GUY joint Count of Flanders. Willem II Count of Holland, as king of Germany, pronounced that Count Guy and his mother had forfeited imperial Flanders by failing to do homage to him. His forces attacked Holland in 1253 and Count Guy was defeated at Westkappel, on the island of Walcheren, in Jul 1253 and captured. His mother sought help from Charles Duc d'Anjou, who agreed in return for receiving the county of Hainaut which he partially subjugated. A truce was negotiated between all parties 26 Jul 1254, which included an agreement to submit the dispute to Louis IX King of France for adjudication[631]. Count Guy was ransomed in 1256, when King Louis IX confirmed his 1246 decision regarding the Hainaut/Flanders split between the Avesnes/Dampierre families[632]. Guy bought the rights to Namur 20 Mar 1263 from Baudouin II titular Emperor of Constantinople[633]. He succeeded as sole Count of Flanders on the abdication of his mother 29 Dec 1278. Following complaints of maladministration, together with commercial difficulties following a long-running trading dispute with England, rebellions broke out in Bruges and Ypres in 1280/81[634]. Conflicts with France arose after the accession in 1285 of King Philippe IV. In 1290, the emperor enfeoffed Jean d'Avesnes Comte de Hainaut with imperial Flanders, although he lacked the means to enforce it. Count Guy established closer ties with England, confirmed by the Treaty of Lier 31 Aug 1294 under which his daughter was betrothed to the future Edward II King of England. Philippe IV King of France summoned Count Guy to Paris, imprisoned him for four months with two of his sons, forced him to abandon the English betrothal, and obliged him to adhere to the French embargo of trade with England[635]. In Mar 1296, Count Guy's acceptance of an invitation from Valenciennes, chief city of Hainaut, to annex it to Flanders provoked Jean d'Avesnes Comte de Hainaut into invading Flanders from Holland. King Philippe IV declared Flanders forfeit, but restored it on payment of a fine. Count Guy renounced homage to the French king, who attacked Flanders 15 Jun 1297. The Chronicle of Guillaume de Nangis records that "Karolus comes Valesii" captured "Guido comes Flandrensium...cum duobus filiis Roberto et Guillermo" in 1299[636]. He attacked again 6 Jan 1300, incorporated Flanders into the royal domain, took Count Guy and his sons as prisoners to Paris, and appointed Jacques de Châtillon as royal lieutenant. An uprising followed in Bruges, prompting another French invasion which was heavily defeated at Courtrai 11 Jul 1302. The French navy defeated the Flemish at Zierikzee in 1304, and an indecisive battle at Mons-en-Pévèle followed 18 Aug 1304[637]. The Continuatio of the Chronicle of Guillaume de Nangis records the death in Feb 1305 of "Guido comes Flandrensis", while still in captivity, the return of his body to Flanders, and his burial "Marguetæ"[638].
"m firstly (contract 2 Feb 1246) MATHILDE de Béthune, dame de Béthune, Dendermonde, Richebourg et Warneton, daughter of ROBERT [VII] Seigneur de Béthune & his wife Elisabeth de Morialmes (after 1230-8 Nov 1264). The Genealogia Comitum Flandriæ names "Mathilde filia Roberti Tenremontensis" as wife of "Guido frater eius [=Willelmus]"[639]. The testament of "Mahaut feme au…Guion comte de Flandre et dame de Béthune", dated Mar 1250, is witnessed by "…monseigneur Robert sénéchal de Flandre, monseigneur Hellyn son frère, monseigr Guillaume de Grimberghes"[640]. The Annales Blandinienses record the wife of Comte Guy as "filiam Roberti advocati Bethunensis", and the death of "Mathildis uxor Widonis comitis" in 1262[641].
"m secondly (May 1264) ISABELLE de Luxembourg, daughter of HENRI II Comte de Luxembourg & his wife Marguerite de Bar, dame de Ligny-en-Barrois (-25 Sep 1298). The Iohannis de Thilrode Chronicon names "Elysabeth filia Henrici comitis de Lucemborch" as the second wife of "Guido", specifying that he obtained the county of Namur through her[642]. The History of the Bishops of Liège written by Jean Hocsemius, canon at Liège, records that "Isabella Flandriæ comitissa soror...comitis Lutzilburgensis" appointed “dominum de Falcomonte” to “terræ dotis suæ Namurcensis” in 1288 after “bellum apud castrum de Waronc” in which her brother was killed[643]."

"MARGUERITE de Flandre (2 Jun 1202-10 Feb 1280). The Genealogica Comitum Flandriæ Bertiniana names (in order) "Iohannam et Margaretam" as the two daughters of "Balduinus"[592]. The Chronica Monasterii Sancti Bertini records that "secunda filia Margareta" was born after her parents left on their travels[593]. On the other hand, according to Villehardouin Comtesse Marie stayed behind when her husband left on Crusade, gave birth, and afterwards left for Acre where she died[594]. After her father's death, she was sent to Paris with her sister on the orders of Philippe II King of France[595]. Matthew of Paris names Bouchard as first husband of Marguerite in his description of the background to the war in Flanders in 1254[596]. Her first marriage was arranged by King Philippe II, her husband being a noble from Hainaut whose family had long supported French interests. Her first husband demanded a share of his late father-in-law's inheritance and, after complaining to Pope Innocent III, the marriage was annulled by the Fourth Lateran Council of 1215 on the grounds that Bouchard d'Avesnes had previously taken holy orders. The couple remained together until Bouchard was captured by his sister-in-law Ctss Jeanne in 1219. He was released two years later on condition he separate from his wife[597]. The Iohannis de Thilrode Chronicon records the marriage of "Marghareta" and "Willelmo de Dampetra"[598]. Matthew of Paris names Guillaume as second husband of Marguerite in his description of the background to the war in Flanders in 1254[599]. The Annales Blandinienses record the succession in 1244 of "Margareta soror eius [=Iohanna comitissa"[600]. She succeeded her sister in 1244 as MARGUERITE II Ctss of Flanders and Ctss de Hainaut, both her husbands having died. Her children by her first marriage claimed their inheritance, but Louis IX King of France ruled in 1246 that Hainaut should be given to the Avesnes children and Flanders to the Dampierre children[601]. She abdicated 29 Dec 1278 in favour of her son Guy de Dampierre. The Necrologio Sanctæ Waldetrudis records the death "IV Id Feb" of "Margarete Flandrie et Hanonie…comitisse"[602].

"Dominum Gaucherium de Borbonio, dominamque Matildem uxorem meam" granted concessions to Cluny by charter dated 1189 which names "domino Guillelmo fratre meo"[113]. Neither of these sources state directly that Mathilde was the daughter of the younger Archambaud but it is a reasonable assumption that this is the case. She succeeded her paternal grandfather in [1171/73] as Dame de Bourbon. “Dominum Gaucherium de Borbonio, dominamque Matildim uxorem meam” granted toll exemptions to Cluny, with the consent of “domini Guillelmi comitis fratris mei”, by charter dated 1189[114]. ; Per Genealogics:
“Mahaut was born in the mid to late 1160s, the only child of Archambaud VIII de Bourbon and Alix 'Ducissa' de Bourgogne. Her father, the heir apparent to Bourbon, died in 1169 without ever inheriting the lordship. Her grandfather Archambaud VII, sire de Bourbon, died in 1173. Since Mahaut was his only surviving grandchild, she inherited Bourbon in her own right.
“Before 1183 Mahaut married Gaucher IV de Vienne, sire de Salins et de Bracon, son of Gérard I, comte de Mâcon et de Vienne, and Guyonne de Salins. After he returned from the Third Crusade, they frequently quarrelled. In the end he became violent and had her locked up. She fled to her grandmother's estate in Champagne. During her escape she allegedly also used violence, and for this she was excommunicated by Archbishop Henri de Sully of Bourges. After she arrived in Champagne, she asked Pope Celestine III for a divorce from her husband, arguing that Gaucher IV and she were close relatives and that the marriage therefore had been inadmissible. The pope charged the bishops of Autun and Troyes and the abbot of Monthiers-en-Argonne with investigating her claim. These men found that Mahaut and her husband were third cousins, as they were both great-great-grandchildren of Guillaume I, comte de Bourgogne, and that therefore her claim that they were too closely related was justified. The pope granted the divorce and also lifted the excommunication. Mahaut and Gaucher had a daughter Marguerite who became the second wife of Guillaume I, comte de Forcalquier, and then married Josserand, sire de Brancion, but did not have progeny.
“In September 1196, only a few months after her divorce, Mahaut married Guy II de Dampierre, seigneur de Montluçon, son of Guillaume I de Dampierre and Ermengarde (Basilie) de Mouchy. Thus the Bourbonnais fell to the house of Dampierre. Mahaut and Guy had six children, of whom Archambaud VIII, Guillaume, Philippe (Mahaut) and Marie would have progeny.
“The marriage lasted 20 years, Guy dying in 1216. Mahaut died on 18 June 1228, twelve years after her husband. After her death, her daughter Marguerite from her first marriage claimed the lordship of Bourbon. Guy had initially recognised Marguerite as heir to Bourbon, but he later claimed the lordship for his oldest son Archambaud VIII. In the end Archambaud prevailed.”.1

He succeeded as Seigneur de Salins. The Pars Altera Chronici Lemovicensis of Geoffroy de Vigeois records that "nobilis Ebo de Charento" with "Gaucherio de Salis qui fuit filius Geraldi de Mania" with "nuru sua, quæ fuit uxor Archambaldi de Borbon et soror ducis Burgundiæ" invaded Limoges, dated to 1182[1160]. “Wacherus dominus de Salinis” donated property to Besançon Saint-Etienne, for the soul of “patris mei Girardi comitis Viennensium”, by charter dated 1184[1161]. “Dominum Gaucherium de Borbonio, dominamque Matildim uxorem meam” granted toll exemptions to Cluny, with the consent of “domini Guillelmi comitis fratris mei”, by charter dated 1189[1162]. "Galcherus Salinensis dominus" founded the abbey of Golliane, with the consent of "Mora matre mea comitissa", by charter dated 1218[1164]. His date of death is fixed by the charter dated 1220 under which “Margarita filia Walcheri, quondam domini de Salinis” swore homage to “consanguinei mei Stephani comitis Burgundie”[1165]. The necrology of Gouaille abbey records the death “IV Non Aug” of “Galcherius dominus de Salinis fundator noster”[1166]. His place of burial is confirmed by the charter dated 1219 in which [his sister] “Ida duchissa Lotharingiæ domina de Coloniaco soror comitis Vuillelmi et Galcheri domini Salinensis” chose to be buried at Gouailles abbey “cum fratre fundatore”[1167].

Her parentage and second marriage are confirmed by the charter dated 1221 under which “Renardus dominus Caseoli” granted dower to “Alaydi uxori meæ dominæ Salinensi”[1173], read together with the Chronicle of Alberic de Trois-Fontaines which refers to one of the seven daughters (mentioned third in the list) of "comiti de Brana Roberto" and his wife Yolande as the wife of "Raynaldus de Casseblo"[1174]. Dame de Traves: Raynard and “Alix dame de Choiseul et de Traves sa femme” donated “le pâturage de Chauffour” to Belfays, with the consent of “Jean leur fils aîné”, by charter dated Mar 1238[1176]. The circumstances in which Alix acquired the seigneurie de Traves have not been ascertained. “Domina Aalidis domina Caseoli, relicta domini Renardi quondam domini Caseoli” confirmed the donation of property made by “dominus Vuillelmus de Jevegney miles, filius quondam domini Liebaudi de Jevegney” to Charlier abbey, with the consent of “Joannes filius meus”, by charter dated Jun 1239[1177]. “Alix domina de Treva” exchanged property with Charlieu abbey, with the consent of “Joannes dominus de Chosuel miles et Robertus domicellus frater eius, filii Aalix predictæ”, by charter dated Apr 1256[1178]. “Alix dame de Traves” is named in the charter dated 1258 under which Jean de Chalon Seigneur de Salins granted property “à Varennes, à Sainte-Marie et en la pôté de Flagey” to “Etienne d’Oiselay son frère”[1179]. An inscription at Morimond records the burial of “Aalis nobilis domina de Choiseul et de Salins”[1180].

** Agnès de Bourbon (1120 - ?), qui épouse Eblé IV, seigneur de Charenton-du-Cher vers 1136 ;
** Archambaud (1140 - 1169), qui épouse Alix de Bourgogne dont il a une fille : Mathilde.

; Per Med Lands:
"ARCHAMBAUD [VII] de Bourbon (-1171). His parentage is confirmed by the Gesta Ambaziensium which records that, after the death of "Oldinus dominus Jalinniaci frater Elisabeth", "Archembaudus de Borbonio filius Haimonis" confiscated the castle of Jaligny[99]. Seigneur de Bourbon. Archambaud "princeps Borbonensium", with the consent of "sa mere Lucia", granted immunities to the abbey of Saint-Menoux by charter dated 2 Mar 1123[100]. "Archambaudus et Agnes eius uxor" granted customs to "leur ville franche de Moncenoux" by charter dated to [1136/39][101]. An undated charter, dated to [1165], records the settlement of a dispute between "Archembaldus de Borbonio" and "Petrus de Blot", at the court of Henry II King of England, records that Pierre claimed that their fathers were "fratres germani" which was not recognised by Archambaud[102]. The Chronicon Cluniacense records the death in 1171 of "Archimbaudus VI, filius Aymonis"[103].
"m (1137 or before) AGNES, daughter of --- (-after 1180). A notice dated [25 Jan] [1137/39] or 1140 concerning the foundation of the leprosery of La Madeleine near Souvigny refers to a donation of land by "domni Archinbaudi Borbonensis et Agnetis comitissæ" sold property to the prior of Montet by charter dated to [22 Sep 1095/early Jan 1097][104]. According to Europäische Stammtafeln[105], the wife of Archambaud [VII] was Agnes de Maurienne, daughter of Humbert II "le Renforcé" Comte de Maurienne et de Savoie & his wife Gisèle de Bourgogne [Comté]. No indication has yet been found to confirm this origin. However, it is surprising that Archambaud [VII] (who was a bachelor, and probably in his mid-thirties, at the time of his marriage) should have married a spinster who would at that time have been in her late thirties (Agnes must have been born before 1104 if she was the daughter of Comte Humbert). The reference in the charter referred to above to "Agnetis comitissæ" indicates that Agnes was of higher rank by birth than her husband. "Archambaudus et Agnes eius uxor" granted customs to "leur ville franche de Moncenoux" by charter dated to [1136/39][106].
"Archambaud [VII] & his wife had two children:
"a) ARCHAMBAUD [VIII] "le Jeune" de Bourbon (29 Jun 1140-26 Jul 1169).
     "b) daughter ."
